Volunteers assigned to the ROTC detachment at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs help set up the North American Aerospace Defense Command’s operations center for tracking Santa Claus in Hangar 123 at Peterson Space Force Base, Colo., Dec. 19, 2024. NORAD, a U.S. and Canadian binational command, has the special mission of tracking Santa on Dec. 24, using the same satellites, radar and fighter jets it uses 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to track anything that flies in or around the North American continent.
