The 90s Experience Opens to the Public on November 11
LOS ANGELES, October 28, 2021—Paging all ‘90s lovers! The Experience Team is bringing the feel-good nostalgia through an epic, buzzworthy, and shareable immersive experience – perfect for everyone, from the savviest of content creators to families looking to make lifelong memories through The 90s Experience. This limited-time pop-up beginning November 11 will transport attendees through a time machine as they immerse themselves to the sounds, colors, smells, and tastes of the ‘90s.
“In our current climate, we want to give people a way to go back to a time when things were simpler, where there was a sense of community, and friends hung out to watch Friends,” said Ky Truong, one of the founders of The 90s Experience.“We want you to create new memories from old ones.”
The Experience Team, a group of ‘90s loving friends, are comprised of Truong, Emilio Garcia, Jareth Federe, Natasha Fernandez, and Alfonso Dominguez. Having enjoyed interactive experiences, the San Francisco Bay Area friends realized the value in memorable experiences that people could create.
“We were just a scrappy group with a mission to bring people together, bring joy—all through a kaleidoscope of ‘90s immersive art,” said Truong.
Founded in 2018, The Experience Team observed the ‘90s trends coming back into fashion, from its styles to entertainment and music. They officially launched the first 90s Experience in Oakland at Jack London Square on July 12, 2019.
What began as a passion project turned into something shareable, according to Truong. Now, Los Angeles residents can relive the ‘90s throwback vibes. Whether attendees are content creators, couples, families, or friends, anyone is invited to create new memories. Parents can also give their children a glimpse of what it was like growing up in the ‘90s.
Over 20 local artists and contributors have been chosen for curated exhibits that let attendees see, touch, feel, hear, and smell this iconic decade. “It’s mission critical for us that each 90s Experience location pays homage to the voice and artistry it’s located in. Oakland has its own special magic…a vibe, so will LA,” said Truong.
The 90s Experience is located at Westfield Topanga & The Village, 6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd., in Canoga Park, CA 91303, across from the Lego© Store and near Target. Attendees can purchase general admission tickets for $29. Children ages 3-17 are $15, and toddlers under 3 are free.
