The Most Grandiose and Luxurious Casinos
When we think of brick-and-mortar casinos what first comes to most people’s minds is Las Vegas. And yes, Vegas is the gambling capital of the world, however, there is so much else going on in there, it has kind of turned into a cliché. That being said, Sin City still boasts some of the most grandiose casinos in the world, but the fact is that most people visit Vegas, not for gambling but for cheap hotel stays, shows and, of course, bachelor parties.
So if your main reason to visit a casino is to experience the glamour and luxury it used to mean, check out our list below. A Portuguese iGaming expert, Martim Nabeiro helped us compile this list since he is a big fan of casinos and knows all the best spots!
Casino Estoril, Portugal
Portugal has a lot of gambling history. The small southern-European country has 10 land-based casinos and one of them is the largest one in the whole of Europe: Casino Estoril. It was originally established in 1916 and the building has changed ownership several times. Set in the Portuguese Riviera, the casino is a short ride away from the capital, Lisbon.
Apart from the over 700 slot machines the casino boasts, you will find many table games including blackjack, roulette, Caribbean stud poker and baccarat. There is no shortage of bars and restaurants in the casino and the building looks awesome over the water.
While there are casinos scattered around Portugal, playing at an online casino is always an option as the country has several local and foreign operators as well.
Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
You must have seen pictures of this hotel on different travel sites as they are proudly the owners of the world’s largest rooftop infinity pool. This 5-star luxury hotel also gives the best views of Singapore by far, but if it is not enough to convince you to book a room, you’ll be happy to know that they have one of the most luxurious casinos in the world! More than 2,000 slot machines and 500 game tables await eager punters. Between gambling sessions, you can enjoy one of the many bars, clubs and restaurants the hotel complex offers.
The Venetian, Macau
Yes, you heard it right. Not Vegas but Macau. And while the Venetian is one of the best casino hotels in Las Vegas, the Macau namesake is a lot bigger and more luxurious than its American counterpart. Go on a gondola ride in the hotel’s canals, play mini-golf or swim at the awesome pool. And if you travel with kids, don’t worry! They will be entertained at the kids’ play zone.
The Venetian is not only the biggest casino in the world but it has the largest casino floor too. 376,000 square feet of gaming space awaits gamblers with 640 gaming tables and 1,760 slot machines. You will often see Asian high-rollers at the baccarat tables betting larger sums than high-rollers in Vegas.
The Bellagio, Las Vegas
While about ten other Las Vegas casinos could be on this list, we chose Bellagio for its opulence. The casino complex has nearly 4,000 guest rooms all decorated luxuriously; no wonder it is a holder of the Five Diamond Award. The 156,000 square feet casino floor is home to over 200 elegant game tables and over a thousand slot machines.
When you don’t feel like playing anymore, you can lounge at the outdoor pool or get a soak in a hot tub. Impeccable service and chic decor make this place hard to forget.
Casino de Monte Carlo, Mónaco
This is the place where European high-rollers like to burn their money. The whole principality depicts luxury, no matter whether you walk around the luxury yachts at the marina or check out the Ferraris and Aston Martins parked in front of the casino. The casino opened its doors in 1963 and has been reinventing itself every few years to always provide the newest and best entertainment possible.
They are open to the public (and not only high rollers) but they have a more strict dress code than American or Asian casinos so come prepared!
Conclusion
The most luxurious establishments within the casino industry are scattered around the world. You will find history in Monaco, opulence in Las Vegas, and incredible measures in Macau.
