Pumpkin spice Red Vines? Californians are searching for it
Google users across the United States are on the hunt for pumpkin spice-flavored things, and the search engine collected data revealing which are the most uniquely searched by state in 2023.
The metric “uniquely searched” means a significantly higher number of Google searches for these products were occurring in certain states compared to others, according to The Takeout.
“Which explains why something like ‘pumpkin spice latte’ isn’t on the map — everyone’s searching for that all the time,” the food website wrote.
Pumpkin spice Red Vines are what Californians are looking for, according to a Google Trends report published on Sept. 8, and we decided to give them a try.
Here’s our review of pumpkin spice-flavored Red Vines, and what pumpkin-spice flavored foods other states are searching for:
Pumpkin spice Red Vines review
We found the fall-flavored Red Vines at Savemart on sale for $3 for two packages, as of Thursday afternoon.
Upon opening the package, the smell of pumpkin spice slaps you in the face. Because of this, we thought the licorice would have a strong flavor, but it was surprisingly mild.
The candy had a muted pumpkin spice flavor. It wasn’t incredibly sweet, either.
We tasted more flavors of spice than pumpkin. We noted cinnamon and nutmeg at the forefront.
Overall, we rate the candy a 6/10. We wouldn’t rush to buy out the store, but even non-pumpkin spice lovers might find these edible.
