Oscar-Winning Actress Donna Reid’s Former Palm Springs Home Listed For $4.2 Million – Orange County Register

A Monterey, California-style home once owned by the late Academy Award winner Donna Reed is on the market for $4.175 million in Palm Springs.

Located on 4/4 acres in the Old Las Palmas neighborhood, it consists of a main house and a separate guest house, with a total of 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and 4,341 square feet of living space. Designed by architect Charles O. Matcham, the mansion dates back to his 1934.

Reed, who died of pancreatic cancer in 1986 at the age of 64, was not the original owner. Palm Springs Life She reported in 2007 that she owned the house from 1966 to 1970.

The current owner has made many improvements since taking possession of the property, according to the listing agent. Records show that the last time he was sold was in 2008 for $2.75 million.

Highlights of the main house include a kitchen with walk-in pantry and separate butcher block island. There is a sunroom to use.

The living room has a fireplace and views of the front and backyard.

A staircase with wooden railings leads up to the second floor to the main suite. Fireplaces, balconies, spa-like bathrooms, and custom double vanities.
