Oakland: 1 taken to hospital after shooting on Interstate 980
OAKLAND – One person was taken to hospital in a shooting on Interstate 980 in Oakland on Tuesday afternoon, California Highway Patrol said.
The Auckland CHP Regional Office was informed at 3:15pm that a gunshot wound had arrived at Highland Hospital. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The victim told hospital staff that the shooting occurred on Interstate 980 near 18th Street.
The CHP said Tuesday evening it was still investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting. No motive has been identified and no suspect has been identified.
All eastbound lanes of Interstate 980 were closed for approximately 30 minutes for inspection.
