Nine killed in San Francisco’s Mission District
SAN FRANCISCO – Nine people were shot dead in San Francisco’s Mission District on Friday night, police said.
A San Francisco Police Department spokesperson said in an email that officers from the Mission Station were called to the 24th Street and Treat Avenue area at 9:07 p.m. to report the shooting. When they arrived, they found several people with gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel were called to the scene to treat the victims and transport them to local hospitals.
“No one is expected to be injured,” police said in a social media post. “At this time, this incident appears to be targeted and isolated. There are no known threats to the general public at this time.”
