Man critically injured in shooting at Walmart parking lot in Orange County
A teenage boy died and another man was injured in a shooting at a Walmart parking lot in La Habra late Friday, officials said.
La Habra police said they received several 911 calls about a shooting in the parking lot of a shopping center on Block 1300 of South Beach Boulevard around 8:30 p.m.
Police said the boy was pronounced dead at the scene and the man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Investigators also said they were not actively searching for a suspect because the man and boy may have been shooting at each other.
It remains unclear what led to the shooting. It is also unclear whether the man and the boy are related. Neither victim has been identified.
Authorities remain at the scene as the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and the La Habra Police Department conduct an investigation, and a portion of the parking lot remained blocked early Saturday morning.
If you have any information, please contact the La Habra Police Department.
