Free Monterey Trolley Returns for Memorial Day Weekend

The Monterey Trolley starts moving again.
Monterey-Salinas Transit launched a free trolley service Saturday around the city of Monterey for the summer season.
The trackless trolley will operate from 10am to 6pm through Labor Day.
MST spokeswoman Ikuyo Lopez Yoneda said the trolley is identifiable thanks to its distinctive bell and is loved by tourists and locals alike.
“[It’s] It’s a great way to avoid parking, traffic jams and congestion, and it’s good for the environment,” said Lopez Yoneda.
The trolley loops from downtown Monterey to the aquarium, making stops along the way, including Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery Row.
In another service change for the summer, the MST route from Salinas to the California State University Monterey Bay campus will be suspended until fall classes resume on Aug. 21.
