Five arrested in connection with 27 robberies in Hayward
HAYWARD, Calif. (KRON) — Five people were arrested after police were involved in 27 robberies across the Bay Area, according to the Hayward Police Department.
Between July and December 2022, HPD received several reports of robberies at convenience stores and liquor stores in the area. Each store reported being robbed of cash as well as cigarettes.
A police investigation reportedly involved five suspects in seven different Hayward robberies. Several agencies cooperated with the investigation, including the San Leandro Police Department and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.

A total of 27 robberies involved the same group of five people, all of whom were arrested on January 10. During the arrest, police also recovered two of his loaded guns and two of his replica guns.
Police have shared a video of one of the robberies that took just over a minute from start to finish. Police warned that the public should always be aware of their surroundings because the suspect tried to make it look like a crime was taking place during the incident.
