Fall 2021 Game Release Calendar!
Death Loop – 14th September 2021
The game has somewhat of a new approach to how the game plays out. One where you can die again over and over, however keeping the knowledge you had before you died. Deathloop has you stuck on an island that was a former army base. Due to the military experiments that took place, the whole island is caught in a time loop. You play as Cold, a person stranded on the island with very little memory of your past and eventually you learn that the only way off the island, is to break the loop. Sounds easy right? Well, no. There are 8 “visionaries” (people entrusted with protecting the loop) who you will need to kill in one day, and in order.
So, not as easy as you thought. If you can’t kill all targets or you get killed, the loop starts all over again. What’s nice about Deathloop is the vast number of ways to kill these said visionaries. You can take them out silently, from afar or run-in guns blazing. You essentially have plenty of time to figure out, because, well, you’re stuck in a Deathloop. Fortunately, there is no timer. Keep in mind however, if you do go in guns blazing, nearby opponents will be alerted and will attack you on sight. This can be very detrimental early on as you don’t have a lot of health, nor the firepower to take on multiple enemies.
There is an amazing ability you will want to get early on called: “Reprise”. Reprise lets you rewind your last actions so you can try a different way to handle/get out of the situation. Similar to Price of Persia – Sands of Time. However, this skill is limited and if you die more than 2 times, you start the whole loop over. Other skills include A teleport skill that allows Cold to move quickly from one place to another, allowing you to get out of a tight spot quickly and a skill that makes you invisible. Later on, you can learn more powerful abilities like telekinesis which will allow for some pretty sweet plays as you can link enemies together so that they share damage. As stated earlier, dying causes the loop to start over, but you will keep some of your abilities and weapon upgrades, which will make the next loop a tad bit easier. There is one visionary that appears once a day, completely random, called Juliana. She is AI-controlled and can cause you a lot of trouble if you are not prepared.
Deathloop will be released on September 14th for PC and PS5.
Diablo 2 Resurrected – 23rd September 2021
Diablo 2 is probably my favorite hack-and-slash RPG. I remember coming home from school and starting up my Pentium 2 computer and jumping onto Diablo 2 with my friend. Back then, guides weren’t really much of a thing so we sat up all day just killing enemies and putting on the weapons and armor that had the highest rating. Back then, I had no idea about “builds” and all that. I just played the game for so many hours that I got good at it naturally. Also, with that many hours into a game, it’s hard to not be good.
Anyway, when I heard about the Diablo 2 remake, I was ecstatic. My childhood game, finally being remastered into a 4k version, playable at 60 FPS. I was eager to see more, so I fled to the internet to see if there was any more information on it and I was only greeted with a mere teaser trailer. Not long after though, more information was released, and eventually, I was able to play the beta. (Not too long ago actually) The game looks so polished and runs so smooth, yet somehow keeps the gameplay experience of the original game. Something which is not easy to do. Very well done Blizzard.
You might be wondering what’s new with the resurrected version. One of the most notable changes is the cleaner user interface. Navigating your inventory, character screen, and skill tree is just so much easier. Another difference from the original is that you will be able to respec your character as many times as you want, free of charge. Fans of the series will know just how vast of an improvement this is, as the original game was very unforgiving in the sense that, if you messed up, you kind of just had to live with it. Other exciting things include multiplayer and potential cross-play. Either way, I’m very excited to see what’s coming, and I’ll prepare with some Cheap D2 Resurrected Gold just in case.
Diablo 2 Resurrected will be released on September 23rd 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and surprisingly, Switch.
New World – 28th September 2021
Yes! It’s finally happening! 28th September 2021 can’t come any sooner! I’ve been playing FFXIV for a long, long time. And don’t get me wrong, I love it. It’s why I’ve been playing it for so long. For a while though, I’ve just been craving something different. New World is that. I first heard about New World from a friend who told me his GPU crashed while trying to play it. I was intrigued, so I started to Google more and more about the game. Then I was able to procure a closed beta key. I was hooked from then on. You know how it goes from there. I watched tons and tons of YouTube videos, downloaded wallpapers for my PC. My whole world suddenly became New World.
For those of you who don’t know, New World is an MMO set to release on 28th September 2021, after multiple delays. It’s very different from other MMO’s in a few ways. You are part of a faction fighting other factions for territory whilst fighting the deadly enemies of Aeternum as well. You can craft, harvest, the battle for Forts in massive 50 player battles and enjoy a new mode, called Outpost Rush, which is a PvPvE game mode.
One thing I found super enjoyable about New World is its lack of quests. You know, quests are okay now and then, as it gives you some sort of direction or accomplishment. However, like Skyrim, which plagues you with never-ending side-quests, sometimes they become tiresome and just repetitive. The Quests tab just carries on growing and growing and never seems to diminish. For me, with my OCD, and me being a completionist, it’s a problem. But in New World, has a few quests to start you off. After that, you are free to do whatever you want to do. The game is described as a massive sandbox whereby players can play how they want to play. Another great thing about New World is that the PvP is somewhat forgiving as well. If another player kills you, you only lose some weapon durability and XP. You don’t lose your items. You can also skip PvP altogether if you wish. I personally cannot wait till the full game is released and I can actually start playing it properly, whilst not having the thought in the back of my mind that my progress isn’t going to be saved.
New World is a must-play, especially for lovers of the MMO genre. Luckily for you, you can also buy New World Gold if you wish to get a head start on your journey/or if you just not have time to farm for items/resources. It’s safe, fast, and reliable.
New World will release on PC only on September 28th, 2021.
