(cron) — Crew members are searching for a submerged man in Lake Livermore on Saturday afternoon, the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) said in a press release. At around 3:51 p.m., park officials responded to a call from the family of a man who went into the water to retrieve the oars.
Eyewitnesses who told EBRPD said the man jumped into the water at Lake Del Valle and immediately began to struggle before diving into the water. Police arrived on the scene minutes later.
Marines and EBRPPD lifeguards assisted in the response. As of Saturday night, the crew is still searching for the unidentified man.
Lake Del Valle is located within Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore, about 25 miles southeast of the Livermore Outlets.
