Tablevibe’s founding team includes two former Google employees. The idea for Tablevibe came after CEO Rutten visited a restaurant in Singapore using a paper feedback form.
“I thought they would actually take a lot of work, such as entering all the data in an Excel spreadsheet, using a paper feedback form,” he told TechCrunch. “How do restaurant owners get actionable feedback based on data in an Excel spreadsheet?”
The team started developing the first version of Tablevibe with a simple Google Forms and Google Data Studio dashboard for dining customers and tested it in three restaurants months before COVID-19 came out. did. They found that using Tablevibe instead of paper forms had the advantage of increasing response rates by up to 26-fold and giving incentives to fill out surveys, thus generating more repeaters.
Then the pandemic hits and restaurants suddenly had to pivot to delivery. The team kept the same idea behind the feedback form, but started using the QR code affixed to the takeaway package. A QR code (usually in the form of a sticker so restaurants don’t have to order a new package) also provides an incentive if the customer scans it and fills out a survey, but with discounts and free Items cannot be redeemed. Restaurants can customize their surveys, but about 80% use Tablevibe templates, as most questions only ask for a 1 to 5 star rating.
