William Hurt Dead at 71

William Hurt – An Oscar-winning actor who has been in Hollywood for a long time – is dead.

His son, Willmade a sad announcement on Sunday – telling Deadline … “Hurt’s family mourns the death of William Hurt, the beloved father and Oscar-winning actor, on March 13, 2022, a week before his 72nd birthday.”

Will adds about his father’s death … “He died peacefully among the family for natural reasons. The family is asking for privacy at the moment.”

As we said, Hurt was a bit of an actor chameleon … able to portray a number of different characters in different genres – from comedy to drama to science fiction and everything in between. She may be best remembered for her Oscar-winning role in the 1985 film “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”

The guy was lost in the 80s in terms of noteworthy parts – in addition to Spider Woman, he was also nominated for an Oscar for his work in “Children of Less God” and “Broadcast News.” Other films of the same era in which he starred include The Big Chill, Gorky Park, A Time of Destiny, The Accidental Tourist, Body Heat and many more.
