White House to launch COVID test ordering site on Wednesday

Starting next week, the White House on Friday said Americans will be able to visit the government’s website to order a free, quick COVID-19 test at home and deliver it directly to their home.

According to the White House fact sheet, the new website COVIDTests.gov, Will be released next Wednesday.

Once the website is published, Americans will be able to order four free tests per household at home, shipping in 7 to 12 days, according to Biden administration officials. Tests are sent by USPS First Class mail in the Americas and by priority mail in Alaska, Hawaii, and elsewhere.

The White House prioritizes orders and first sends tests to “community households with the highest social vulnerabilities, especially those who experienced an imbalanced rate of COVID-19 cases and deaths during this Omicron surge.” Then I added.

The Biden administration has also stated that it will launch a call line where people without internet access can order free tests.

The White House says that once the website is launched, 500 million tests will be available. Earlier this week, the Biden administration ordered another 500 million tests, which will be available later this year.

This story is broken and will be updated.
