The former Campbell’s Soup Factory in southern Sacramento is undergoing a major transformation. At the event on Wednesday, developers embarked on a multi-million dollar project. Most of the factories will be demolished to give way to new modern factories. Rabin Worldwide and Hackman Capital purchased a site along Franklin Boulevard in 2013. They auctioned the equipment, converted the building and rented it to a tenant. Currently, they are hoping to demolish factories and more than 12 buildings to build six modern facilities. The new owner plans to build wells, electricity and sewerage facilities. The project is expected to be a major economic driver, not only during demolition and construction, but also after new work is completed. The Campbell factory was built in 1945.
