What States Is Online Sports Betting Legal?

Online sports betting is now legal and available in a growing number of states, thanks to the PSAP Act being overturned in 2018. States are now free to legalize online sports betting if they choose, and so far, many of them have done so. Americans have been betting online at offshore betting sites for years, but many of them can now sign up and bet at legal online sportsbooks instead.

Online sportsbooks offer odds on all major sporting events, with lots of different sports and leagues to choose from. As more states start to legalize sports betting, the number of available sports betting is steadily increasing, and the competition between them is increasing. As a result, many sportsbooks offer bonuses such as no deposit bonus codes in the US for users to use when they first sign up. If you are going to bet online, make sure you take advantage of these bonuses when you join.

The full list of states where online sports betting is legal in 2021 is as follows:

New Hampshire

On July 12, 2019, New Hampshire became the 16th state to allow sports betting, and it went live on December 30, 2019. Anyone who is at least 18 years old, possesses a valid US Social Security Number, and is physically present in the state of New Hampshire is eligible to bet.

New Jersey

In New Jersey, online sports betting is permitted. Gov. Phil Murphy signed NJ sports betting into law in June 2018 after a long legal struggle against PASPA, and the first legal bets were placed three days later. In August of 2018, the first online sportsbooks went active.

Illinois

The new Illinois sports betting law permits for statewide retail and online sports betting at casinos, racetracks, off-track betting parlors, and venues that host professional sports across the state. However, to bet online, bettors must first register inperson at a retail sportsbook or casino.

Colorado

Following the passage of HB19-1327 in 2019, sports betting is now legal in Colorado. Colorado has the most legal sportsbooks of any state. Each of the states’ three dozen casinos now has the capacity to provide sports betting, and there are also a number of online sportsbooks. The state must license all sports betting providers.

Indiana

Indiana legalized sports betting in September 2019, just in time for the NFL and collegiate football seasons. Soon after, online betting also became available in Indiana, providing gamblers access to online sportsbooks.
