Bale reached in the States for the LAFC derby clash with LA Galaxy at the Banc of California Stadium last week for his unveiling.

Bale said, “The humidity was very difficult, even in the warm-up.

“It was something I was not used to. The heat is not really seen on TV.”

He added: “I would not say it [the style of play] is different, it’s just getting used to the philosophies of the teams.

“We work on it every day in training. I watch extra film about it in terms of before and after training with the coaches.

“It’s just to get up to speed as fast as I can and when I go on the field, do as much as I can to help the team.”

The Welshman was not the only one to make his debut for LAFC.

Italian legend Giorgio Chiellini, 37, also made his bow and started the collision.

Bale revealed last week that he has long-term ambitions with LA and says he intends to stay in the States longer than his 12-month deal.

He said: “I did not come here to be here for six or 12 months.

“I came here to try to be here as long as possible.”
