Val Kilmer’s Madmartigan will be back in the upcoming Disney + show Willow, which is a sequel to the 1988 fantasy film TV series of the same name.

In an interview with Yahoo Entertainmentexecutive producer Jonathan Kasdan and returning star Warwick Davis have confirmed that the 62-year-old actor, who played the heroic warrior in the original film, will be seen in the upcoming series.

“Val is a big part of this, and the first conversation I had when Warwick and I got the green light to do this was with Val,” Jonathan Yahoo said.

The Solo: A Star Wars Story writer explained that Val was unable to join the cast during production due to the COVID-19 lockdowns, but said the star is “in a big way” on the show.

Kasdan, 42, said: ‘Because we shot during [the COVID-19 lockdowns], he could not come to Wales and shoot with us. But he’s in the show in a big way.

The 52-year-old Star Wars actor also discussed his long friendship with Val, whom he credits to get him through filming Willow.

According to Comic bookJonathan spoke about Val’s involvement during the panel discussion and sheds some extra light on how Madmartigan will be included in the series.

‘Val has been in communication with Joann [Whalley] and me and Madmartigan is a character in the story and what we did not get with him on Season 1, we made him an important figure in the story, ‘he said.

The series, which takes place 20 years after the original film, will also star Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, Talisa Garcia, Dempsey Bryk and Amar Chadha-Patel.
