Safeway security guard shot by shoplifter in San Francisco

San Francisco (KRON) — The Man Who Was Shot at Safeway in San Francisco Security guards were trying to stop a shoplifter on Saturday, San Francisco police said Monday. The victim sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Shortly after 6 p.m., police were called to the store at 4950 Mission Street and received a call of a shooting. Officers found the victim and provided it before being taken to the hospital.

SFPD said officers spotted the suspect trying to flee in a munibus. He was arrested and identified as 50-year-old Andre Brown.

Brown was charged with robbery, attempted murder, and multiple other felonies. He was also wanted by the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Bureau on gun charges.
