Tragically, she would die just five years later after being stabbed to death in her home by members of the Manson Family, a cult of murder led by Charles Manson.

‘Many Christmas or Thanksgiving dinners I would hear about how he befriended Sharon Tate – of which I paid no attention at all because I was more consumed with what dumb teenagers were important at the time.
‘I really wish I had asked more questions, but it was difficult because that life he had was a life for my mother.
“I know he went to check on the property where she was murdered before she moved, and I know it really, really haunted him his whole life.”

‘If I was not mistaken, Sharon was busy, her career was starting to pick up, so I assume she was regularly at auditions, and so on.

‘Then it all came into focus, the stories I never listened to when I was a teenager, but he tried to tell me.
