UC Berkeley order to shelter in place over ‘campus-wide threat’

Police at UC Berkeley on Thursday called for people to evacuate the venue because of a “serious threat on campus.” Students and other people on campus should get out of doors and windows, police said on Twitter. They added that in a subsequent message that there was no shooter on campus but police were looking for someone “who could harm specific people.” The university said in a renewal at 10:45 a.m. that all campus activities such as libraries, restaurants and garages were closed. “Robotic classes are canceled on other days. Teachers are encouraged to enroll students and if possible record their distant classes to allow students at a later date,” said UC Berkeley.
