VICTORVILLE, California (VVNG.com) – Two teenagers carrying guns with an expanded warehouse were arrested near Village Elementary School on Friday morning in Victorville.

On Friday, May 27, 2022, around 11:37 a.m., Victorville station deputies responded to the Ashley Glen Drive and Balmoral Drive area after a witness near Village Elementary School reported seeing two minors carrying firearms.

According to the sheriff’s statement, “deputies arrived a few moments later and spotted the suspects. When the suspects noticed the police, they ran across the field. “

“One of the juvenile suspects was arrested in an open field south of Balmoral Drive and taken into custody. A search of the suspect determined that he possessed a firearm with an extended frame. Another suspect was found in the yard of a nearby house, and another firearm was found nearby, “the statement said.

A witness who called an ambulance named Joshua turned to VVNG and said many parents were scared and distraught. According to Joshua, the teenagers walked to the corner and waited for school to come out. Joshua said he thinks it was a quick response from our sheriff’s department who got there, otherwise he doesn’t know what would have happened.

Authorities said that although local schools were closed, investigators determined that it was an isolated incident and that there was no threat to schools.

The suspects identified as a 17-year-old juvenile and a 15-year-old juvenile, both Victorville residents, were arrested and detained in the Apple Valley Juvenile Hall on the following charges: PC 25850 (A) – Carrying Loaded Firearms in Public, PC 25400 (C) 6) – Carrying a concealed weapon on the face: loaded, PC 25400 (F) – Carrying a concealed weapon: loaded / not registered with DOJ, PC 32310 – High capacity magazine, PC 306 (PC 306) – Illegal possession of assault weapons .
