Police said the two victims were in stable condition.

The IMPD says that on February 26, 2022, two men were shot dead at the Jewish Community Center on Hoover Road. The IMPD does not believe the shooting was religiously motivated or in any way linked to a hate crime.

The IMPD says they do not believe the shooting is religiously motivated or in any way linked to a hate crime, but that this will be investigated because of the location.

Lieutenant Shane Foley says there is no constant threat and shooting at the Center “may have been linked to a disturbance associated with a basketball game.”

Foley says a suspect escaped from the scene and police are still searching for them. The IMPD urges anyone who sees anything suspicious to call 911 or the IMPD.

This is an evolving story and will be updated.
