Two men face felony charges after brandishing weapons at Menlo Park nightclub

Two Redwood City men face multiple felony charges following a brawl at a Menlo Park nightclub early Sunday morning.

An agent with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department was the first to respond to reports of a fight at Club San Luis on Middlefield Road at 2:40 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses told police that two men who had been kicked out of the club returned with rifles later that night.

Using a vehicle description and license plate number provided by a witness, officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle nearby. After conducting a traffic control, a BB gun rifle was found inside the car and the two were detained.

Both men in their 30s were held at Maguire Correctional Institution on $50,000 bail. They have been charged with a variety of crimes, including assault with a deadly weapon, threatening, conspiring, and brandishing replica firearms.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the incident to submit information to the Anonymous Reporting Line at 1-800-547-2700.
