Two detained after chase ends at Mariposa Rd in Hesperia – VVNG.com

HESPERIA, California (VVNG.com) – Two people were detained after a chase that began in Barstow and ended in Hesperia.

It happened on April 15, 2022 around 5pm, along Mariposa Road, south of Mesquite Street.

A stolen silver 2007 Nissan Frontier in which a man and a co-driver were was leading a patrol on the Barstow California Highway in pursuit.

The vehicle was a erratic vehicle along the curb of the highway before exiting Mariposa Road where it collided with a Hesperia PD patrol vehicle.

Details of the reasons for the chase or information on the detained suspects were not available at the time of publication of this article.

UPDATE 4/16 – The driver was identified as a 34-year-old Daniel Ray Martinez, a resident of India. He was arrested for PC496D (A), VC10851 (A) and VC2800.2 (A) and was detained on $ 100,000 bail. His trial is scheduled for April 19. The passenger was identified as a 27-year-old Monica Valenzuelaa resident of Vista was arrested on the same charges and was also detained on $ 100,000 bail.
