Truck driver stabbed to death at gas station in Avenal, deputies say
Deputies say it happened around 7:30 p.m. at the EZ Trip Travel Center on Lassen Avenue along Interstate 5.
The deputies were informed about a man down in the parking lot of the gas station. When they arrived, they found the driver of the truck dead with knife wounds.
A man at the gas station has been arrested and is being questioned.
Deputies say the victim walked with the suspect before the knife happened.
Authorities believe the knife may have been accidental.
Detectives say the man arrested may have been responsible for recent car robberies in Auckland and Bakersfield.
Authorities say details, including the names of the suspect and the victim, will be made public as soon as the investigation is completed.
