Ticketmaster cancels Taylor Swift ticket sales due to ‘demand’ – Daily News

Inglewood — Taylor Swift Fans desperate for tickets to her upcoming Eras Tour were hit hard on Thursday when Ticketmaster abruptly announced the cancellation of the scheduled general ticket sales start on Friday, citing overwhelming demand. I received another blow.

“Tomorrow’s general sale of the Taylor Swift/The Eras Tour has been canceled due to extremely high demand for our ticketing system and not enough ticket inventory left to meet that demand,” said online tickets. The retailer made the announcement on its Twitter page.

The announcement follows delays that occurred during the pre-sale event earlier this week due to what Ticketmaster called “unprecedented demand.” Advance tickets went on sale Tuesday, but advance sales for Swift’s West Coast shows (including his SoFi Stadium in Inglewood) have been postponed by five hours as demand strained online systems. The pre-sale for Capital One cardholders has been postponed until Wednesday.

The issue of tickets has become an uproar among Swift’s fans. The Tennessee Attorney General has announced that his office will conduct an investigation in response to numerous complaints.

Ticketmaster previously announced that more than 2 million Swift tickets were sold on Tuesday, setting a record for a single day.

Swift has said that her “Era Tour” will be “a journey through the past and present musical eras of my career.”

It opens March 18 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The US tour is set to end with his five performances at his SoFi Stadium on August 3-5 and his 8-9.

In addition to Swift, Paramore, Beaverdoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, Girl in Red, Muna, Haim, Gail, Gracie Abrams and Owen will be on tour.
