San Diego — Republican Governor Kevin Faulconer, former Mayor of San Diego, addressed his supporters on Tuesday night after showing that Governor Gavin Newsom had strong leadership in the call election.
Faulconer said his work in California wasn’t over, although votes haven’t been counted yet.
He sought to focus the campaign on issues such as homelessness, wildfire prevention, and living expenses in the Golden State, but in his opinion the focus shifted to “national politics and personality.”
“I’m not part of the circus,” said Fallconner. “I’m the guy who comes to end the circus. And that’s what I did as the mayor. That’s what I’ve always done and it’s a very difficult time in the history of the city. When I came to, I was known as the Mayor of San Diego. It’s a very difficult time in the history of our state, and that’s why we need leadership — again. Someone who understands how you win in California. You win in addition. You win by bringing together Democrats, Republicans, and non-affiliated members to make a real difference. “
Fallconner concludes by saying that he “remains a fighter” and that it will take time to determine the best steps to serve the state.
“I’ll leave this to you: Round One tonight. There’s more,” said Fallconner.
