The Troy woman lost to Oregon Ducks 72-48. The USC had no answer to the soaring ducks sitting 13-6 in the season. Oregon was trying to finish three consecutive losses.
Alyssa Piri was the only Trojan to score in double digits because she had a hard time scoring points on the board. Angel Jackson has added 9 points and 5 assists from Endya Rogers. Jackson won a series of buckets before her premature replacement in the second quarter, shortly after the duck took advantage of the lack of paint.
Jordan Sanders, one of the highest scorers at USC, scored only eight points. Piri needed help and scored his fifth double-digit score in six games. This is the second straight game she was the only one to score in double digits.
What made the difference in the game was Oregon’s ability to knock eight threes in the first half. Oregon Ducks had four players who ended up in double digits. Sydney Parish led at 17, and the female Trojan had too much offensive firepower.
The duck shot 48% from the arc and knocked down 12 three pointers. USC outperformed 36-30 and outperformed 24-22.
As the Pac-12 tournament is approaching, head coach Mark Track wants to run before March comes here. USC Women has a record of 10-10.
USC is trying to defeat Hot Streak UCLA, which is currently ranked 3rd in Pac-12 and 10th overall. This will be the last regular season match.
