The final round of the Masters is underway

Masters Sunday has arrived and the game is in progress in the Augusta National class. The Masters returned to where the day started, with Scottie Scheffler leading Cameron Smith with three shots. A two-shot swing was made in the 3rd hole par-4. Scheffler made a green chip for a birdie, while Smith – with an almost identical brand – had a good run through the hole and lost par putt to return. Through three holes, Scheffler went to 10 under and Smith fell to 7 under. They are the last couple on Sunday. Masters rookie Min Woo Lee got off to a great start in the final round of the tournament. 23-year-old Lee shot a 6-under 30 in the front nine to reach red numbers. Lee opened the second par-5 hole after a shot that landed 4 feet from the cup. He then added a series of birds at Nos. 6, 7, 8 and 9 to reach 2 below the total. Wu made the cut in his first Masters exactly at number 4-over 148. He put a yoke of 72 on Saturday. Tiger Woods reached a 6-over 78 lap on Sunday in the final lap. He finished in 13 overs for the week, a total of 301 was by far his worst in the Masters and a shot from the worst 72-hole score he has ever had as a professional. None of the numbers seemed that important. This was Woods’s comeback tournament that came a little over a year after the car accident that almost cost him his right foot, or worse. He said entering the Masters was an achievement. Woods limped in his final lap and limp looked much worse on Sunday than they did earlier in the Masters. Meteorologists are waiting for a warmer day for the last round of the Masters. There was frost in the Augusta area during the night, but the players who played on Sunday morning at the Masters clearly did not have as many clothes as many on Saturday, when temperatures were difficult to exceed 40s.
