These 37 California restaurants are Michelin-certified

(NEXSTAR) – 30 restaurants around California have been added to the delicious and authoritative pages of the Official Michelin Guide.

French tire company Michelin created its own guidebook as a way to help drivers find good places to eat during their road trips. is usually worth a special trip in and of itself.

The company announced this week that 37 restaurants will be added to the Michelin Guide of California. Renowned restaurants offer counter-service omakase sushi (Rebel Omakase), casual, inventive Thai cuisine (Bird & Buffalo), and seasonal menus (Hatchet Hall).

“With these regular revelations and selection updates throughout the year, we will highlight this profession and give everyone the opportunity to discover and support the restaurants around them,” said Gwendal Pouleneck, International Director of the Michelin Guide. We hope to provide you with publication.

Los Angeles dominates the list of newer spots, but more than half are in the Los Angeles area, though there are a few in the San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and more.

Two restaurants, Yanbang Society in Los Angeles and Kingfisher in San Diego, won just two months ago. Bon Appétit’s list of best new restaurants.
