Tell vaccine holdouts they are choosing death and illness

To the editor: There is a lot of good news that the deployment of the vaccine has resulted in reduced deaths and hospitalizations, but it is a double-edged sword. Currently, those who oppose or are still in danger of COVID-19 vaccination have an excuse to keep avoiding getting their shots. (“”California has vaccinated 30 million COVID-19, but demand may be declining,”April 30)

Instead of reporting most of the good news about vaccines, the media should prominently report how many people who are still dead or seriously ill with COVID-19 have not been vaccinated.

Vaccinated people are more resistant to infection, leave the hospital and do not face the dire prospects of death or serious illness caused by the virus. Please report this over and over again. Perhaps the message will reach those who have not yet been vaccinated.

To the editor: The elaborate scenarios presented as an explanation for the declining demand for vaccination show the quaint belief that everyday citizens pay attention to medical news on a daily basis.

In fact, the reason for this drop-off is that everyone who was GungHo about it, and everyone who had a special need to get the vaccine early rather than later, rushed their shots. Because I got it in. Now, the rest are the less motivated people.

These people don’t know exactly how they have to sign up, the need to promise a specific time for an appointment, what happens at the appointment, or how long it will take from start to finish. By, and many other small excuses, people don’t want to be inconvenienced, so people can easily come up with it.

Know exactly how long people are taking, know exactly what will happen, face no hurdles in the sign-up process, and some very useful for taking shots You can take a walk to the place. Greater success.

To the editor: Given the nightmares that are happening in India, how can the government say that it is “actively considering what options are available to increase production” of vaccines? (“”Vaccine companies and the U.S. government have hampered WHO’s initiative to expand global manufacturing,”April 30)

There is only one choice. Send all excess doses to India as soon as possible, revoke the patent and order pharmaceutical companies to share the manufacturing process and vaccine components with all countries that have a structural basis for manufacturing vaccines.

India definitely has this ability. All other options are immoral and inhumane.
