Teenager arrested for suspected carjacking and assault in Antioquia

Antioch, California (cron) — A teenager was arrested in connection with a carjacking that opened fire on Sunday, according to the Antioquia Police Department.

Oakley’s 18-year-old Jakari McKinney was taken into custody at 5 a.m. Tuesday and placed in Martinez Detention Facility on charges of carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

At 11:24 am on Saturday, APD made multiple receptions. Report of shooting incident at Twin Creeks Apartments Located on James Donlon Blvd. Officers arrived and found the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, police said.

The victim was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition. Officers determined the victim’s car had been carjacked by the suspect after the shooting, according to APD.

The APD’s Violent Crimes Investigation Unit also linked McKinney to another shooting in Oakleigh, police said. The APD worked with the Oakley Police Department to locate McKinney and issued a search warrant at his Valley Run residence in Quail, Oakley.
