Teen Charged In Fatal West LA Lamborghini Crash That Killed Monique Munoz – CBS Los Angeles

Los Angeles (CBSLA) — Munoz’s family said Wednesday that they had been charged with a 17-year-old driver who was accused of beating and killing 32-year-old Monique Munoz in February.

“It looks like we’ve been fighting for a long time and wept,” said Carol Cardona, Munos’ mother. “As a mother, I don’t understand why you have to be prosecuted or fight so hard to pay close attention when your child is killed.”

The· The crash occurred at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Overland Avenue after 5 pm on February 17th. When a teenager holding a Lamborghini steering wheel collides with Munos, who was driving a silver Lexus.

Billionaire James Kuri, a teenage father, said in March that his son had a brain injury and could hardly walk after leaving the intensive care unit. Khuri also apologized for an Instagram post praying to the Munoz family.

“I know that the time it took to convey this caused more pain for everyone affected,” he writes. “Knowing that this will never bring justice to Monique Munoz’s family, I would like to apologize to Munoz’s family for the tragic loss of their daughter.”

Munoz’s family has held rallies at the scene of the accident since the accident, demanding prosecution of teenagers. The family claimed that the teen had received special treatment because his family was wealthy and connected.

“We will continue to be her voice until justice is finally offered,” Cardona said.
