Ted White dies at 96 – Tributes pour for Jason Voorhey’s stuntman who co-starred with John Wayne in ‘Friday the 13th’

Legendary stuntman Ted White has died at the age of 96, his son announced today.

The actor, best known for playing Jason Voorhees in the 1984 film Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, died peacefully at his home in Southern. California On Friday.

Confirming his father’s death today, Ted’s son Ted also spoke. fox news digital: “He was a tough guy. He was honest and told the truth whether he liked it or not.

His wife, Jeri Byuse, said, “He was bigger than life and tough as a boot.

“A kind heart and a very generous heart. He took many risks and many adventures.”

“He loved the film industry and stuntmen and knew there were a lot of phenomenal actors and actresses out there,” added Ted.

“So he appreciated the time spent on it and appreciated the business.”

White was also a former Marine.

Before heading West, I attended the University of Oklahoma.

Ted told Fox that the late star was also good friends with President Ronald Reagan, even getting a haircut with him.

“We took some pretty famous people out to dinner and he didn’t mind all that,” Ted said.

Ted also said he was fearless, recalling a time when his father went with him to the set of Daniel Boone and got injured in a stunt but was unfazed.

“One day he hit the corner of the pad and fell high, and the next thing I knew they were taking him away in an ambulance. He waved at me as he walked away. I was,” said Ted.

Film producer Sean Clarke wrote an emotional tribute to the late Ted Facebook.

“He was my adoptive grandpa and the best storyteller you’ve ever met,” he wrote.

“I will miss you so much and the steak dinners we used to have. I will also make fun of you for the red, white and blue banner that made you look like you were running for president.”

My heartfelt condolences to his wife Jeri and sons. It was an absolute honor for my friend.

White chose not to be credited when ‘Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter’ was published and declined any involvement with the sequel.

He later became involved in documentaries and conventions surrounding the horror industry.
