Suspect assaulting old man in video sought by SFPD

San Francisco (cron) — San Francisco police are seeking help from members of the public to find a man caught on video assaulting an older man. approached from behind and beat the victim, knocking him to the ground.

The incident occurred on Natoma Street and New Montgomery Street at approximately 7:39 am on January 8. The 78-year-old victim told police the attack was unintentional.

According to SFPD, the victim was unable to get to his feet after the attack. He helped an employee at a nearby building get up and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled on foot. According to police, he was a white or Hispanic male in his late 30s or early 40s with a short beard. He wore black trainers with white lettering, a white shirt, and black and white shoes.
