Suspect arrested in Pomona triple shooting that killed a San Bernardino man – Daily Bulletin

Gonzalo Avila, 40, of Pomona, was arrested in San Dimas on Saturday by Pomona and Fontana police personnel, Pomona police said in a press release. Avila was also charged with two counts of attempted murder and being a criminal in possession of a firearm, police said.

Avila was also arrested on suspicion of a third charge of attempted murder in connection with a person he allegedly aimed at shooting but did not injure, but prosecutors did not raise that charge, said Aly Mejia, a police spokeswoman. Pomonës.

On Wednesday, police responded to the alley south of 420 E. Olive St. after a caller reported the sound of gunfire in the area. Officers arrived and found Miranda suffering from a gunshot wound before she died at the scene, police said. Two people wounded with firearms were taken to hospital for treatment.

Avila, a gang member from Pomona, was identified as the suspect and investigators received an arrest warrant for him, police said.

There is no information about a possible motive for the shooting.
