VICTORVILLE, California (VVNG.com) – A 26-year-old man from Victorville was arrested for kidnapping after the chase in Victorville on $ 250,000 bail.

It happened on May 1, 2022, around 9:48 a.m. in Circle K in the Village and Mojave Drives area.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Gloria Huerta said the man was seen attacking the woman and then forcing her into his vehicle.

“The victim managed to get out of the car while the man was driving away,” Huerta said.

Lawmakers searching the area found the suspect vehicle and tried to stop traffic, however, the suspect man did not relent and a chase ensued.

A spokeswoman said the chase was about two miles away and ended up in circle K from where the first call arrived.

According to Huerti, the deputies located the vehicle on the way to the call, after it escaped from the gas station, so the deputies did not start the chase from there.

The suspect, later identified as Kenneth Tofaeonohe was arrested and detained at the High Desert Detention Center.

His bail charge for PC207 (A) is set at $ 250,000, however, he has an additional Los Angeles Probation warrant for PC34559 (A) of $ 135,000.

He is scheduled to stand trial in the Victorville courtroom on May 3, 2022.
