The Abbott ID NOW test is reported to take 30 minutes to generate a report after sample collection, but obtaining a COVID-19 test report typically takes 24-36 hours after a normal RT-PCR test.

Suburban Diagnostics has introduced the Abbott ID NOW test. This is a rapid molecular test using rear technology that accelerates the reporting process, allowing patients to get test results faster. The test is ICMR approved, so according to the company’s release, the report is valid for emergency treatment, hospitalization, or even for domestic travel.

Obtaining the COVID-19 test report usually takes 24-36 hours after a normal RT-PCR test. Suburban Diagnostics’ new Abbott ID NOW test reports that it takes only 30 minutes to generate a report after sample collection. This is a faster alternative to RT-PCR testing in emergencies where waiting longer is not a viable option for the patient.
