Litzy and her siblings told KCRA 3 that they had just moved to Stockton from Los Angeles about a year ago. The siblings are also suffering from the fact that they lost their father to a stroke last year.

The killing has also upset neighbors who have explained that shootings on Knickerbocker Drive are common.

“I have not really seen them (the shots), but you can hear them,” said Toni Beals, a neighbor.

The Beals said it was staying close to where the shootings took place and had heard at least eight shots in the past year.

“I want to move. “It’s scary for me here in this corner,” Beals said.

Arline Limon also lives nearby. He said Knickerbocker is an area he knows how to avoid, especially at night.

“There are a lot of worries my love because of the excessive violence,” Limon told KCRA 3. “I’m an old lady, so I go to bed. I’m in bed at 5 o’clock.”

Police in Silva said the area was known for gang violence, although the circumstances of Hernandez’s murder were unclear at the time.

“This is a high-crime neighborhood. As soon as we return last March, we have four people who were shot in exactly the same area,” Silva said.

Silva added that just two months ago, four men were shot and one died near the spot where Hernandez was shot. The March case remains unsolved and investigators had little lead with Hernandez being shot.
