Southwest crew celebrates kid’s birthday on flight to Sacramento

These are not just fights over plane masks these days. There are also some wonderful moments. A mother in Lincoln contacted KCRA 3 to say how grateful she was that Southwest Airlines crew members went “up and down” to celebrate her son’s 11th birthday. Trinity Cooney said she mentioned Mason’s birthday to staff when boarding a flight from Seattle to Sacramento on Sunday, hoping the crew would mention it over the loudspeaker. Instead, they drove Mason to the front of the plane and had all the passengers sing to him as they all lowered their window shades and turned on the reading lights as “candles”. The crew also gave him some creative gifts – a crown of snack bags and a two-tier paper “cake” made of toilet paper with handwritten messages and decorations. “It just made my mom break my heart,” Trinity Cooney told us. “Human kindness exists in the midst of crazy travel delays. “A woman on the plane commented – she will remember it forever and I believe many people will remember it forever!” A flight attendant captured the moment in the video leading this family story.
