SOLEDAD – The President of Chapter 55 of TREA (The Retired Enlisted Association), Jack Stewart, presented his first JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) award to 2022 class cadet Evelyn Camacho during a ceremony at Soledad High School on 21 May.
A group of cadets, classmates, parents and family packed the gym for the event presented by Captain Pete Gomez, a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy and senior naval science instructor JROTC of the Soledad High Navy.
Stewart praised school staff, cadets and their parents for their conspicuous support for the NJROTC program developed in recent years, giving Camacho his well-deserved medal and a $ 200 monetary prize.
In addition, he received a Congressional Certificate recognizing his accomplishments, which was organized by Jason Cameron, director of the Monterey County Office of Military and Veterans Affairs.
Stewart congratulated all cadets on their excellent performance and promised continued support for the Soledad NJROTC program.
