Solano Safe Routes to School grants available starting June 1

SUISUN CITY — Solano County cities, school districts, schools and community-based organizations receive a total of $ 100,000 in grants from the Safe Routes to School Program.

The application period is from June 1st to July 15th at 5pm. Winners will be notified by September 15th.

The Microgrant Program fund and support small bicycle and pedestrian projects and programs that encourage walking and cycling and improve safety around the school. It will be implemented within one year of the grant.

The program will include 14 in 2020, including radar feedback signs, bike and scooter racks, safety signs and equipment, improved pedestrian crossings with high visibility, bike enclosure and scooter storage, walking and bike incentives. Funded the project.
