St. Mark’s police are investigating a deadly motorcycle collision.
Dylan Grose, 46, of San Marcos, was killed Wednesday when his motorcycle and a Ford F-150 collided on State Highway 80 near Walmart.
Officials said the St. Mark’s police station, the San Marco Fire Department and the Hays County EMS responded to the fatal crash at about 4:45 p.m.
Early correspondents located the motorcycle and Grouse, who were seriously injured on arrival, officials said. Grose was taken to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital in San Marcos, where he later died of his injuries.
Police said their initial investigation found that Grouse was traveling in the SH 80 when he was hit by an F-150 trying to turn left. Officials said the driver of the truck remained at the scene and consented to a blood draw for drunkenness.
Police said officers found marijuana inside the vehicle during a search of the pickup truck. The driver reported possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and was released on stage pending blood sampling results.
The SMPD’s investigation into the crash is ongoing, officials said. Wednesday’s incident marks the fourth fatal crash in San Marcos in 2022.
