Smash-and-grab robbery reported at Nordstrom in Topanga mall

Canoga Park, Los Angeles (KABC)-Guards were attacked on Wednesday as a group of suspects fled with an expensive wallet in a robbery at the Nordstrom store in Westfield Topanga Mall.

Several police cars, fire trucks and ambulances were seen parked in a popular shopping complex in Canoga Park outside the Nordstrom store.

At least 12 shoppers appeared to be standing outside.

The attack occurred at around 6:45 pm, when a group of five suspects smashed and grabbed at a Nordstrom store, running out of items, including about 7-8 expensive handbags. At least one of the suspects was described as wearing an orange wig.

According to police, they attacked the guards and sprayed them with pepper during the robbery.

The suspect escaped with a gray Ford Mustang.
