A lieutenant was seriously injured in Santa Clarita Wednesday morning in a collision between a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s motorcycle and a large rig.
The crash was reported around 7:23 am near the intersection of Creekside Road and McBean Parkway, a tweet from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Office said.
According to the tweet, the lieutenant was initially transferred to a local hospital of unknown condition.
A Sheriff’s spokesperson later showed that the adjutant was in serious condition and was still under evaluation.
An aerial video from the scene showed the adjutant’s heavily damaged motorcycle, partially wedged under the front of a large rig that turned left during the crash and appeared to be a driveway.
During the investigation, part of Creekside Road was closed between McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard.
More information about the cause of the crash and the driver of the big rig was not immediately available.
