Shell Fire 2% contained after burning 1,200 acres near Grapevine in Kern County

Grapevine, CA (KABC)-After burning 1,200 acres after dangerously approaching a driver on five highways in Grapevine, Kern County, so-called shellfire contained only 2%.

No injuries or vehicle damage have been reported.

According to Cal Fire, the fire erupted on Sunday just south of Grapevine Road. Several agencies have responded to the incident, including firefighters from Kern and Ventura counties, the US Forest Department, and the Land Management Department.

No evacuation order has been issued.

The cause of the forest fire is under investigation.
