The extraordinary underwater footage of the newly found wreck of the endurance have also revealed some equally extraordinary creatures lurking in the dark and frigid depths of Antarctic‘s Weddell Sea.

Marine biologists who have viewed the photos have already spotted about half a dozen species of animals, underscoring the abundance of life that can be found in even the most extreme of environments.
