SF Firefighters Use Jet Ski to Rescue Drowning Coyote Off Marina Green

Coyote More comfortable around San Francisco Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have taken the desolate streets and parks in the daytime without hesitation. However, one whimsical dog recently faced a serious problem after falling into the ocean from the Marina Green dock.

On Friday, San Francisco firefighters responded to spectators worried about coyotes in need of rescue from the Marina Green Sea. Members of SFFD Fire Department No. 511, near the Walt Disney Disney Museum, about a mile from where the drowning mammals were found, came down to the scene to see what they could offer. ..

However, it was clear that the SFFD Marines also needed to be called. Rescue attempts to pull the dog out of the water from arid land proved unsuccessful.

In a series of tweets from the San Francisco Fire Department media, you can see a struggling coyote rowing a float before a first responder guides it to a jet ski gurney.

“Today, # SFFDTRUCK16 and # SFFDENGINE51 were summoned by many bystanders watching the coyote drown,” reading the first part of two tweets from the SFFD media. “The members of # SFFDE51 made a lasso to keep the coyote’s head above the surface and prevent it from drowning. […] Our marine unit to save it. “

Rescuers were there to provide care for “severe hypothermia and near drowning.” The coyote, dubbed “Phoenix” since then, was said to be okay and was later taken to a nearby veterinary hospital for recovery and then probably returned to the wild.

As usual: Do not serve coyote foods. Do not throw things at them or abuse them in any way. Don’t be a butt hat for them, and they will gladly leave you alone.

They may be more scared of you than you … but it’s a precautionary measure like keeping your pet on a short leash or bringing you and a flashlight on a nightly excursion. I’m not saying that I don’t take.
